Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal Names Larry Iser and Shawn Holley to 2021 “Top 100” List

The firm is pleased to announce that Larry Iser and Shawn Holley have been named to the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal’s “Top 100” list for 2021. The award annually honors 100 leading attorneys in California doing cutting-edge work in their fields and making an impact on the legal profession.

Larry was recognized for his work representing longtime client SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Inc. in a putative class action suit, which alleges that the park’s continued collection for its annual pass while it was closed during the pandemic violated California’s consumer fraud statutes. The profile also delves into Larry’s highly publicized representation of songwriters Justin Raisen, Jeremiah Raisen, and Justin Rothman in a suit and countersuit involving Lizzo over her hit song “Truth Hurts.”

“The question is how to measure the contributions of my clients to this song,” Larry said of the suit. “When it came out, they were not credited. Lizzo is essentially giving herself a license to create a work that derived from my clients’ work.”

Shawn’s profile in the Daily Journal’s special supplement highlighted her elevation to name partner at the firm in July, as well as her high-profile client list that has included the Kardashian and Jenner families, Shia LaBeouf, Reggie Bush, Rosario Dawson, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan, and others. She was also interviewed about her current representation of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer, who has been accused of sexual assault.

“This was like a restraining order hearing, but it felt like a much bigger deal,” Shawn explained to the Daily Journal. “This was like a war, with so many moving parts – Major League Baseball, the Dodgers, a pending criminal investigation, a relentless media.”
