KHIKS associate Wogai Mohmand was recently invited by President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden to celebrate Eid al-Fitr at the White House on May 1, 2023 in celebration of the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Wogai was invited because of the important work she does in her community as both a Muslim and an Afghan, including for Project ANAR (the Afghan Network for Advocacy and Resources), an organization she co-founded.
With Project ANAR, Wogai has helped assist Afghans seeking immigration pathways to the U.S., has advocated for the expansion of pathways for those seeking refuge, and has sought an end to the systems that displace the Afghan community.
